ESXi Embedded Host (WEB)Client – HTML!

Nem hittem volna hogy ez valaha is eljon. Elerheto egy korai teszt (fling) Web Client az ESXi hostokhoz, amit raadasul HTML-ben es JS-ben irtak (flash helyett!!!). Az “ESXi Embedded Host Client” nevre hallgato Fling letoltheto a VMware Labs oldalarol.

A kovetkezo funkciok mukodnek:

  • VM operations (Power on, off, reset, suspend, etc).
  • Creating a new VM, from scratch or from OVF/OVA (limited OVA support)
  • Configuring NTP on a host
  • Displaying summaries, events, tasks and notifications/alerts
  • Providing a console to VMs
  • Configuring host networking
  • Configuring host advanced settings
  • Configuring host services

A telepiteshez ESX6.0 szukseges, illetve majd a megjeleno 5.5U3-mal is hasznalhato lesz. Sajnos meg a free hypervisor license-el nem mukodik jol, barmit probalunk hibara fut. Igy vagy eval licence-es, vagy vSphere licence-es hosttal probalkozzunk.

Az osszes ismert bongeszo tamogatott viszonylag regebbi verzioktol felfele (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Opera, Safari).

Hasznalatahoz az esxiui.vib-et kell telepiteni, amit akar web-es linken keresztul, vagy letoltes utan a hostra masolva lehet felrakni. A menetet az “Instructions” tab alatt talaljatok.
